Meet the Speakers

Dmytro Kuleba is the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, he is a member of the National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine, and has also served previously as the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe from 2016-2019. In 2017, he was named the Best Ukrainian Ambassador of the Year by the Institute of World Policy.

Garry Kasparov is a former world chess champion, Russian opposition politician, and now Russian dissident in exile who often highlighted the importance of Russia’s constitution in maintaining the country’s rule of law.

Céline Boustani is the President at the Human Rights Foundation where she leads the organization’s programs and campaigns. She joined HRF’s Center for Law and Democracy in 2014 where she focused her legal and advocacy work on the protection of freedom of expression in Arabic and French-speaking countries around the world. Céline has spoken at numerous conferences and events, including the Oslo Freedom Forum, SXSW, RightsCon, and her writing and views have appeared in international media outlets including The Washington Post, The New York Times, Newsweek and l’Express.

Lieutenant Colonel Alexander S. Vindman (Retired) was most recently the director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Russia on the White House’s National Security Council. Prior to retiring from the U.S. Army, he served as a Foreign Area Officer with assignments in Moscow, Russia and for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as a Political-Military Affairs Officer. He is the autho of the book “Here, Right Matters”.

Uriel Epshtein serves as the executive director of the Renew Democracy Initiative (RDI). Prior to joining RDI, Uriel worked in the private sector. As a student at Yale University, he founded and to this day, continues to chair the Peace & Dialogue Leadership Initiative (PDLI). He speaks fluent Russian and French and has been published & quoted in CNN, the Washington Post, National Review, The Hill, TimesofIsrael, and many others on issues relating to democracy around the world, Eastern European politics, and Russian aggression.
