Can Democracy Survive Without Religion?

This is a recording of the first event in our monthly conversation series that took place on September 16th at 12 p.m. EST. The conversation featured columnist David French, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, and Moral Courage College founder Irshad Manji on the provocative question, “Can Democracy Survive Without Religion?”

Traditional religion is on a steep decline in America. But from the Far Left to the Far Right, blind faith in something — and accusations of heresy — seem to be filling the void. Is this more proof that religion of any kind threatens liberal democracy, or does the U.S. need to recover a grace-based form of religion? Join representatives of the three Abrahamic faiths for some surprising insights.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
